Communication Mill Helps Rebrand Dover Children's Home
Few organizations in NH have stood the test of time like The Dover Children's Home. The organization is very special and like many non profits dependent upon donation in kind and government aid to thrive. The organization's leadership, longevity and community dedication has made it a very rewarding Pro-bono project for all of us here at The Communication Mill. With that said, we are proud to announce DCH's new corporate identity.
Dover Children’s Home (DCH) is a non-profit residential treatment program designed to provide a wide array of community-based residential care for boys and girls, ages 12-22, who have been abused or neglected, are under a CHINS petition, or have committed delinquent acts. The Home provides a structured living environment where children are encouraged to develop more appropriate behaviors and social skills. Dover Children’s Home has a strong family component and encourages family connections with the ultimate goal of permanent family reunification.
The Communication Mill was brought on to help the Dover Children's Home reposition itself in the face of brand perception issues and a continually sluggish economy. The first solution The Communication Mill provided aid with was developing a new logo that communicated more effectively what DCH was about. The result was a symbol that had both energy and youthful expression eliminating the perception of coldness or institutional generality. The second challenge The Communication Mill helped with was developing a communication approach that more accurately described what The Dover Children's Home is. Many who'd not worked with DCH were under the false impression that it was an orphanage. The first completed result in this new communication approach can be found in the Dover Children's Home company brochure also featuring a streamlined mission statement. We encourange our business associates and strategic partners to put the Dover Chidren's Home on the radar for donations and fiscal planning in the future. As they say at DCH, "It takes a community to raise a child".
