Communication Mill Launches Online Candy Store
Sweet Kathy's in conjunction with The Communication Mill has just launched a new E-Commerce web site for Sweet Kathy's gourmet chocolate and their specialty lines of candy. The web site uses WordPress as its content management platform and displays a very unique and visual stunning shopping cart. Sweet Kathy's is a special company because it combines retail principals with cause marketing tactics. Sweet Kathy's is named after a life long friend of the company ownership who fell victim to the ravages of breast cancer. Sweet Kathy's now donates considerable portions of its proceeds to funding breast cancer research.
Project manager and Communication Mill Principal, David Stout says "The Sweet Kathy's web site needed to have a very visual and more whimsical approach to selling candy. The site needed to provide a means for Sweet Kathy's management to become a little more self sufficient given a limited sustainable marketing budget. We thought WordPress would give them a cost effective, versitle platform from which to begin selling product online. The blogging content management system is a great tool to help them along with their cause marekting topics. I think we've empowered this company significantly. We paid special attention to function and content. The look and feel of the shopping cart are the big differences though. We paid special attention to each menu and display throughout the entire purchasing process to make sure all items showed professionally shot imagery and each discription written provided an authentic representation of the candy's flavor and "character"."
